West Wind

The WEST WIND June 1,  2010

Thanks to all who came to the Tunbridge Memorial Day Parade!!!

We got a wonderful welcome and thank you from Tunbridge townspeople. It is this kind of outreach and exposure that we need and that will help us attract new families.

Repledges – we still haven’t heard back from everybody. If you can’t increase your pledge, we still need to know, so that we can complete the process. Thanks. Also, if you can’t increase your financial pledge, can you increase your volunteer time? Alyson is looking for a Holiday Fair Chair and Holiday Fair volunteers.

The Strings Concert is this Thursday, June 3 at 6:30 pm.  All string students will be participating.  Please be sure that students practice the music that we are playing.  Also, it is not too late to register for Suzuki Camp from June 22 to 24 at www.nesuzuki.org.  Please speak with Peter Blum if in need of financial assistance for camp.

Field Day Thursday, June 10: Parents welcome to stay and play or watch. Wellspring Grade 1-8 Field Day at the Heath Field. Did anyone take my phone list with a big red “Do not remove” from my desk? Please return it. It is the one with all the updates on it. Thanks. Heide

Last day of school, June 11, will be a half a day, dismissal at 12:30.

Chelsea Flea Market July 10! Simplify your home and bring us your treasures!

Antiques, wooden toys & puzzles, sports equipment in good to excellent conditions, winter gear and clothes in good condition, books, anything you think might earn the school some money. Please, please no junk or things you think might end up in the garbage - It takes money away from the school. Thank you, Melisa

Thank you for all your fundraising support to the 7/8th grade – for hiring them for jobs, buying their after school treats and raffle tickets! They just had a very successful and enjoyable trip to the D.C. area! The quilt drawing will be on June 10th  at the Closing Circle.

Computers wanted for the 8th grade. They will be refurbished and given to children and others in need. No CRT monitors, please. Contact George Abrams at newbuss@gmail.com or 802-234-6331. Thanks.

There are many items still missing from our school costume boxes that were borrowed last spring. We need them returned. Please bring them to Judy or Sally H. as soon as possible. Also, if your child brought costumes home this year, please return them as well. Thank you.

Parents – Please check the Lost and Found on the Wee Hoose porch before the end of school. There are lots of clothes we will sell at the Flea Market if you don’t pick them up. The box is overflowing. Big House parents – it’s worth checking too!  Thanks.

Fundraising with goats!  Jen Nelson generously offered her full-bred Nigerian dwarf doe for sale as a donation for Wellspring.   Great milker, ready to be bred, lovely black coat, dog tolerant.  She does NOT like large goats and she has horns, but has always been safe to milk and pet.  A companion goat is negotiable.  $100 donation to Wellspring - for one.  Contact Jen at 685-3153.

I am looking for an opportunity to spend some of my summer helping a family with young children, especially with infant care. Can travel with families working as a mother’s helper or be a helper in your home and also able to have children at my home occasionally. I have experience babysitting up to five children at a time. I baby sit alone and also work as a mother’s helper. I change diapers, prepare meals and do light house work. I love reading stories and being out side with kids. I am graduating from  Wellspring in June.   Contact me at mgrace.postkinney@gmail.com or 763-2212 Please share this information with any friends with infants.    Moriah Post-Kinney
