Families with talkative children sought!
Two 17 year old German students from the Wendelstein Waldorf School are
looking to come to the U.S. this summer for 5-8 weeks (August - early
September) to improve their English. Thomas and Julian are both good
natured, athletic, and easy going. They would have their own spending
money, could contribute money for food and will help out around the house,
farm and/or garden during their stay. Ideally, they will NOT be in the same
community to really have an immersion experience. If you do not speak
German (or could refrain from doing so for this period of time) and are
interested in hosting one of these boys, please contact Stephan Vdoviak at
598-0439.
New Campus Update
Thanks to an energized and persevering work crew this Saturday! Much of the
vinyl floor tile was removed. Thank you all for the hard work.
We saw quite a few sweat drenched people and blistered hands! Thanks! Work
is progressing at the new campus. The rebuilt stairs are in, the remaining
exterior windows were installed and interior windows are being framed. The
drop-ceiling has been ordered and will be installed soon. Arnie continues
to install electrical outlets, switches and lights. The lazure team began
painting and Miss Sandi's room is now a beautiful warm pink. A special
thanks to our GC Dave for keeping the wheels moving and all the team
captains for making this "in-house" construction system really work.
Development News
A group of Development Committee parents got together on Saturday, April
16th to conduct a fundraising telethon. We got a good response and this is
an ongoing process. We will continue to make calls through June to raise
money for both our Annual Appeal and "Sweat Equity" goal. If you have any
friends or family members that you think would be open to a fundraising
phone call or letter, please forward to or come and see Amy Rosalbo. Thank
you to Heidi Hoffecker and Jessica Zaleski for taking their Saturday to make
calls! We are $10,000 towards our $100,000 goal! $90,000 to go! If you have
not given to Capital Campaign, please consider it today. ANY amount is
appreciated!
Grandparents Day

just the Grandparents to carpool to the New Campus for a tour and reception
with light refreshments. During that time, parents and children will be
staying at the Chelsea school for a potluck snack.
The grandparents will be brought back to the Chelsea campus at 5 pm. We have
sent out invitations to all grandparents we have on our list. If your
parents have not received one, or you know they are not on the list, please
forward their information to amyrosalbo@gmail.com and we will get an
invitation in the mail right away. We don't want to exclude any grandparents
from getting an invitation. We are looking for donations of apple cider for
