Official School News


Substitute teachers: Thank you, Jeff Dutton, Bitsy Biron, Jim Veneziano,
Amanda Ellingson, Megan O'Dell, Marion Lent, and Sally Hostetler for
responding to my plea and offering to volunteer in the classroom. I go in to
the second grade on Mondays myself, and it is fun and illuminating! We
cannot afford to pay parents for subbing, so your help is very much
appreciated!

Please make sure your child has indoor shoes at the school. It's getting
this time of the year.

Past due tuitions: We are going to start charging late fees at the beginning
of next month unless you call and make payment arrangements. Thank you.

Early Childhood is looking for a used dishwasher. $50 tops. Any offers?

Jessica Zaleski and Bennett, McKenna, and Harper Zaleski Crance have moved.
We are now at 62 Pent Road off of Bobbin Shop Road in Chelsea. 685-4705.
We're thrilled to be closer to school! Thanks to everyone for their support
and help during this transition. We are so grateful.

Community Announcements

Parents, sign up forms for this year's downhill ski program at Suicide Six
have been e-mailed. Please return them with payment no later than November
23rd to the Administrator's Office. Any questions, contact Jim Veneziano.

Ski Swap November 13 - 14
Waitsfield Elementary School Ski Swap, Waitsfield. Swap is Saturday and
Sunday, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Drop off consignment items November 12 from 4 - 7
p.m.

Parent Council meets next Monday, November 15th after the All School Sing
to wrap Pocket Man items and talk about simplicity and the holidays. Bring
your own mug and napkin for a yummy treat.

The Golf & Ski Warehouse in West Lebanon is having a Preseason Ski &
Snowboard sale this Thursday - Sunday. New adult and junior ski/snowboard
equipment, apparel and accessories will be on sale and they will have a
large selection of Used Junior Equipment: Used Ski and Snowboard Boots from
just $19 & Used Skis w/ Bindings starting at only $69.

A biodynamic study group is forming to learn about the basic techniques of
biodynamic farming and gardening, the philosophy behind the practices, and
it's place in the farming and gardening movement. The plan is to meet once
a month over the winter and spring. Call or email Judy Tharinger to specify
which nights of the week (or after school) works best for you and if you can
meet before the holidays or whether you would prefer to begin in January.

The Triplets are looking for childcare from 2:30 to 4:30 Monday through
Thursday-your place or mine. (We are in the process of moving to Pent Road
off of Bobbin Shop in Chelsea. We will be settled by Nove. 8th). Pls. email

FloweringChild.com is a Minneapolis-based, anthroposophically-inspired
company that provides parents with access to high quality wool and silk
undergarments for children. At the site, Ester Delhoofen, MD, also provides
Waldorf-inspired parenting advice for free for interested parents.

Fundraisers and Special Events

The Holiday Fair: Saturday, November 20th from 9:30 to 3:00. If you are on
a committee and you have not heard from me, or if you have any questions,

We could still use more volunteers for the craft tables. Two shifts: 10-12
and 12-2. Please let me know if you can put in some time.
Thanks to Bitsy, the 7th grade class (thank you Marion!) and many parents,
we now have enough Pocket Man items! Set-up for the fair will be all day on
Friday, Nov. 19th. Feel free to pop in and help out!

Alumni Dad Corey Unger and his The Legendary Strafford Blues Band makes its
debut at The Pines, in downtown Chelsea, VT this Friday, November 12!
8:30-12:30. Admission is only $5! The Pines is a full service bar with food
available as well. Good dance floor too. Catch our red-hot blues, jumpin'
swing, and classic r&b. Now that Chelsea is the happening scene, come out
over the mountain, or up the river and be a part of the legend!

attend a violin class with Pam Reit. $10 group class,$15 for a 15 min.

Wholesale Rounds of Blythedale Farm Green Mountain Gruyere Cheese for Sale.
The farm is cleaning the cave for the holiday season. $20.00 a round (8 or
so pounds). Must take whole round. Free delivery to school. Call Margaret at

Mark Rosalbo, a Wellspring School parent will be performing the lead role in
a local production. The Parish Players present The Last Pad, a play by
William Inge will be performed at the Eclipse Grange, Thetford Hill,
Vermont. The play is about a death row inmate facing execution. The play is
put on with sponsorship by the American Civil Liberties Union of Vermont &
New Hampshire, and the N.H. Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty. Content
is not suitable for children. Showtimes are Thursdays, Fridays, and
Saturdays at 7:30 pm; November 4, 5, & 6/11, 12&13/18, 19 & 20, Sundays at
3:00 pm: November 7, 14, & 21. Please come out and support Mark and this

My mother-in-law is moving here to the Upper Valley from North Carolina to
be near her family. This Southern belle needs a small apartment/house to
live in - one bedroom would work fine-between $400-600 per month. She has a
cat with very good manners. The closest to Thetford the better. If you
have any place in mind that you could refer us to, that would be
