ADVENT - a time of preparation and waiting for the shortest day of the year,
of moving through darkness toward the light, a time of quiet contemplation.
Put the garden to bed, come inside to the fireplace, celebrate the four
kingdoms of nature: mineral, plant, animal, and human with a candle for each
on your nature table or advent wreath. November 28 is the first day of
Advent and the day of our Spiral of Light Celebration - Town Hall, 4:30 pm.
This is a beautiful and reflective ceremony intended for children in the
Early Childhood program and grades 1 and 2. The children walk a spiral of
fir boughs with a candle- gathering light from a central source and carrying
it within to light the outer world. The procession is peaceful and quiet
and the children are guided by angels (students from the oldest class) in
and out of the spiral. Small children often like to go with family members.
All are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Gratitude to everyone who helped make this year's Lantern Walk particularly
beautiful - especially to Sarah Wright for hosting it and making beautiful
lanterns to guide us on our walk around the pond!

Holiday Fair this weekend, 9:30 to 3:00. Remember, it's a school day! See
you there!

Please make sure your child has indoor shoes at the school. It's getting
this time of the year.

A biodynamic study group is forming to learn about the basic techniques of
biodynamic farming and gardening, the philosophy behind the practices, and
it's place in the farming and gardening movement. The plan is to meet once
a month over the winter and spring. Call or email Judy Tharinger to specify
which nights of the week (or after school) works best for you and if you can
meet before the holidays or whether you would prefer to begin in January.
