Official School News

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

ADVENT - a time of preparation and waiting for the shortest day of the year,
of moving through darkness toward the light, a time of quiet contemplation.
Put the garden to bed, come inside to the fireplace, celebrate the four
kingdoms of nature: mineral, plant, animal, and human with a candle for each
on your nature table or advent wreath. November 28 is the first day of
Advent and the day of our Spiral of Light Celebration - Town Hall, 4:30 pm.
This is a beautiful and reflective ceremony intended for children in the
Early Childhood program and grades 1 and 2. The children walk a spiral of
fir boughs with a candle- gathering light from a central source and carrying
it within to light the outer world. The procession is peaceful and quiet
and the children are guided by angels (students from the oldest class) in
and out of the spiral. Small children often like to go with family members.
All are welcome and encouraged to attend.

Next Board Meeting: Mon, Dec. 6, 6:30 pm.

Please make sure your child has indoor shoes at the school. It's getting
this time of the year.

Torsti Rovainen's phone number is presently 685-3175.

Past due tuitions: We are going to start charging late fees at the beginning
of next month unless you call and make payment arrangements. Thank you.

The Holiday Fair was a grand success. Thank you so much to the many, many
volunteers. Patrick Alverez was my right hand man and kept us all smiling
throughout the day with his hilarious comments as our MC, Bitsy Biron was in
charge of all the P.R. for the event, and her efforts paid off; more people
than ever attended the fair, making it especially festive.
Anne Carroll put together a fabulous raffle table and she obviously got
major karma points for her hard work because SHE won the turkey! Granny
Gabriella Helen Heslop shined wisdom to all who entered her enchanting
grotto. From the spectacular story-telling, to the wonderful crafts,
awesome music, great food, and the behind-the-scenes work of all those who
helped with set-up and clean-up, all the volunteers had a wonderful attitude
and brought great energy to the event. What a lovely way to end an era of
Holiday Fair in the Chelsea Town Hall. Thank you to the town of Chelsea for
hosting us all these years. Next year we will be in our new school and a
new fair will be. Lava Mueller - Holiday Fair Chair
