Next Board Meeting: Mon, 4/11, 6:30 pm
Update on the garage: Peter met with Gary and Pat Ross from the state last
Friday. Pat was very happy the garage was gone, because he really feels the
riverbed needs to be widened at that point. So the plan is to pull a little
of the bank back to give the brook more room there, and rebuild the bank
with stone. Gary will truck in a load of stone and do the work towards the
end of this week. This work will help to protect the Big House from
flooding. Later in the spring we will bring a load of topsoil in. Thanks to
everybody who helped with this project!
Tuition bills: Quickbooks does this thing where it puts people's balance for
the year in the "past due" column. I don't know how to get rid of it, so
please just ignore it. Thanks.
We had our first round of pledge meetings at the New Campus during the
workday last Saturday. We were very pleased with how well the parents were
prepared! Please prepare for your meeting by reading all the materials and
working out a family budget!
For next year we are looking for a new Outreach Director. It's a part time
pledge work position. Please call the office if you are interested.

New Campus Update/Development
Thanks to all of you who attended last Saturday's Work Day. It was a
jam-packed and very successful day! We finished painting the building, sold
ALL of the Froggy-Bottom Guitar Raffle tickets, drew the winner, ate
tremendously delicious waffles provided by Anne Carroll and launched a new
phase of the Capital Campaign. The day was so exciting we even got PRESS
COVERAGE! Look for an article this week in The Herald.
The Development Committee announced that, because of the overwhelming
volunteer response from parents, they have launched a "Sweat Equity
Challenge" to our donors. We anticipate parents will log $100,000 worth of
volunteer hours before we complete what needs to be done for occupancy. We
have challenged the donors to match that effort - dollar for dollar - with
new contributions to the Capital Campaign. Information about the Challenge
went out in the News Letter which is in your mailbox and will be mailed to
the wider community this week. So far, we have raised $6,946 in cash and
logged about $12,000 worth in volunteer hours. We will keep you posted on
our progress.
The Construction and Development Committee seek a few more individuals to
serve as building material donation solicitors. To date we've acquired
several items including 2,400 linear feet of pine trim, 40% off all paint, a
dishwasher and free marmoleum flooring. No experience necessary - we'll
train (it's actually fun and vendors are generally enthusiastic about our
cause). If you're reasonably comfortable on the phone this is a great way
to help the school meet our September 2011 occupancy goal.
Our next work day will be April 16th. More details on the task list to
follow. We will be holding a simultaneous telethon-style donor calling
session that day as well as a pot-luck "Crock Pot Cook Off" lunch. Get your
recipes ready - fame, fortune and possibly a prize could be yours!
